During his four years in the Navy, Bill Pearl excelled at wrestling before focusing on what would be the start of an important bodybuilding career. In addition to his many titles, Bill owned several gyms, and co-wrote an fitness training excercise book with his wife Judy and collaborator Leon Perry. Bill Pearl was inducted into the Joe Weider Bodybuilding Hall of Fame in 1999.
